Issue Position

I will only support free trade agreements that benefit agriculture, working families and important industries of the 3rd CD. Having consulted with labor and local unions in the district, the environmental community, and family farmers and ranchers, I've determined this trade agreement would not serve the best interests of Western and Southern Colorado.

The TPP lacks strong enforceable protections for the workers, the environment and human rights, and does not maintain the competitive advantage of our products in a global market. I propose that Congress prioritizes American made products and invests in our workers and our communities with funding for managing our federal lands, new energy incentives, transportation and broadband infrastructure that will support thousands of jobs and investment right here at home.

I will vote "NO" on the TPP unless the concerns of the 3rd CD's workers and labor unions, environmental and human rights advocates are favorably resolved.
